As part of backward integration, Ladmok operated and maintained an appreciable Cassava plantation in Ogun State. The plantation was equipped with improved seedlings from International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). The plantation also served as demonstration farm as well as extension services for the Cassava farmers and off-takers.
As a result of the interest of the Gernetec Company showed in importing and investing in Cassava products in Nigeria, Ladmok signed a Memorandum of Understanding, (MOU) with the company for massive investment of the Chinese company in the development of cassava farming/ production as well as cassava promotion and export of Cassava Chips and allied products from Nigeria to China.
In view of the new interest generated for Cassava business in Nigeria, Ladmok stood as Off-takers for cassava farmers and cassava processors between year 2006 and 2010. This action was to promote cassava business, development of cassava farming and production in Nigeria. The company therefore provided safeguard measures for the effective marketing of cassava chips and cassava allied products for cassava farmers and cassava processors.
